Kuala Lumpur - Camel, the clothing brand with outlandish and a rugged looks, have taken a step forward in its marketing strategy. Instead of making the usual clothes for men with hard-rock abs, and those with lean bodies, it tends to the once minority, plus sized people.
Gone are the days of 'Camel Active', where the models are attractive gays. It is time to welcome the new branch of clothing released yesterday in Camel Active's headquarters in Germany. Many believe that we shall no longer see models such as these.
(Real fact) It should be known that one third of the American population are obese, yes - not just fat, or slightly overweight, but obese. This was the main reason, according to Michael Laudrup, senior Marketing and Finance Manager of Camel Active, to take the next step - to open up to the people who make up for 1/8 of the Earth's mass (<< made up fact)
Monsieur Laudrup says that "it was only a matter of time" before they took jumped right into this industry.

Laudrup also says the name "Camel INactive", was a stroke of genius.
"Our team thought long and hard what name we were going to give this brand for obese people, and obese people only. That is why we just innovated our original brand, from Camel ACTIVE, to INACTIVE. Genius, non?" says the one time French designer.
Our team or reporters have got a sneak peek at some of the products which will be featured by the new fashion line, launching on the fifth Friday of May, later this month. Trousers are made only in sizes 40 and above, says Laudrup, and shirts range from XXL, to SW (small whale).
"We are planning to put scales in our entrances, and weigh our customers-to-be before they enter. Any less than 150 kilograms, and, you cannot come in." claims the Asia Pacific Head of Retail, Thongchai McIntyre.
