So I was reading this article, which is basically about some 'gambar lucah diselit dalam beberapa surah Yassin di Masjid'.
Then, I read this
"“Tanpa mengira niat mereka, tidak ada sesiapapun yang boleh menerima provokasi yang berbentuk perkauman yang cukup menghina ini."
I am not exactly a professor in Bahasa Malaysia, but I thought the word 'perkauman' means 'racism/ racist'. But the act of putting porn pictures in some surah Yassin, is not really racial provocation, but religious provocation.
Sure, most muslims in this country are Malays, but it doesn't mean that this type of provocation is racial provocation. It is racial provocation. If you piss of a bunch of Christians, but vandalizing a picture of Jesus (pbuh) does it mean you are pissing of Chinese people?
No, you are pissing of Christians (and muslims too), and, not all Christians are Chinese, and not all Chinese Malaysians are christians. Which brings us to the main topic, which is, why does this always happen? And by 'this' I mean, classifying something religious as something racial.
Or does 'perkauman' mean religious sentiments, and not only racial sentiments? I don't know. But this sort of thing pisses me off quite a bit.
