People often tell me to close my mouth, because I often leave it gaping.
As a kid my dad would say 'Lot, tutup mulut, lalat masuk nanti'
But you see, I am not (physically perfect) like you. I wish I were, but I am not. I cannot breathe using my nose because I have a stuffed nose (due to sinus thingy) . If both nostrils are not blocked by mucous, then one of the two is.
If it is not the left, then it is the right.
My nostrils are only clear only when I swim, and as we all know, humans do not live in water, and I am human, so my nostrils are blocked most of the time.
This leaves me no choice but to breathe using my mouth.
Yes, - there are also people who breathe using their mouths! But why is my mouth Open when breathing, and not closed?
Well, the reason is quite complex. When the mouth is closed, air cannot enter the mouth. Yes!
So, in order to keep breathing, which is a part of how to stay alive, I must keep my mouth open! Interesting right? So the next time you see my mouth open, even though I am not eating, even though I am not talking, it is because I am doing this thing called 'staying alive by breathing'.
