Kuala Lumpur:
It is official: The 1Malaysia craze has gone out of hand. It was reported in a local daily here that Malaysia, a South East Asian nation was seeking to change its name to 1Malaysia, to show its unity among the multi-ethnic community.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, has gone bonkers over the country's decision over the addition of the number '1' to its name.
The Secretary was reported to have said
"This is out of this world; absolutely outrageous. Numbers in names of countries? What next? Numbers in names of children? 1Adam? 1James?"
But the small country which consists of a peninsular south of Thailand and the north of Borneo has already filed the request with the United Nations. Unlike ASEAN, the UN has welcomed the move, and even applauded Malaysia's efforts to be 'unique'.
"This is not only a step forward for Malaysia, but also a giant leap for the World" said the UN President.
Every country also has been reported to add a '1' to its name, but only Perak, Pahang and Melaka have officially filed the necessary documents.
It is said that the small oil and gas nation has also called a move to reshape the shape of the peninsular, forming a giant '1' shape, though the construction marvel will cost billions.
The new 1Malaysia will superimpose North Borneo over the Peninsular, shaping a '1' shape which is reversed after being rotated 30 degrees clockwise (clockwise).
"1Malaysia is more than a country, it is a country which is shaped like a giant 1, filled with states with the number one in their names too!" said a UiTM student after being interviewed.
"We used to say Malaysia truly Asia, but that was then, now 1Malaysia is truly 1Malaysia!"
On the 31th of August it was also reported that all babies must be named '1Malaysia' followed by a number.
Mother for 1Malaysia #1, Mrs. Mat said that "It was a really good move" and that it will "increase patriotism among the 1Malaysians". Mrs. Mat, who shops at the 1Malaysia store (link to kedai 1Malaysia which really exists) every week also says that "shopping at the 1Malaysia store will remind her of her of her daughter, who is named 1Malaysia #1, a citizen of 1Malaysia"
THIS. IS. NOT. A. SERIOUS. POST. NOT ONE BIT.
