(click for news link) BREAKING NEWS:
Air conditioned offices at government offices will not be set below 24 degrees Centigrade. The move has sparked joy and happiness throughout Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur by not only government officials who work in the formerly freezing offcies, but also by 54 NGOs (non-government organisations).
One of the 54 strong NGOs, namely PAPKM (Persatuan Anti-Puting Keras Malaysia) has backed 100% the move.
The President of PAPKM (formerly known as MAHNS - Malaysian Anti- Hard Nipple Society, but has since changed its name to Bahasa Malaysia to support the National Language), Marcus James has voiced his opinion on the matter.
"This is a day of rejoice for people like me, who suffer from the cold air-conditioning. I have been working in a public office for 10 years, and sometimes my nipples turn hard for so long, that they turn blue. I spend RM50 per week going to the masseuse (tukang urut) so that they become healthy again", Marcus said, with a smile and a tear streaming down his cheek.
Marcus, who is also Vice-President of PSMSKK (Persatuan SMS Ketika berKerja) said
"The freezing temperatures are not only very bad for 'chest health' (nipple health) but also get in the way of me typing SMSes with my phone. When the AC (air-conditioning) was set to 20*C, I could not feel my fingers, and could not SMS while working. But now, I can finally curi tulang ('sleep' on the job) in peace."
Environmentalists were also happy since the move would cut down energy costs by some 7%, as reported in the newspapers.
