NOT SERIOUS: Kerana Kalian

The nation of Malaysia was shocked today by the move to change the title of the song 'Keranamu Malaysia' to 'Kerana Kalian'.

The move was first suggested by the 1LOGIC group, which is under the 1Persatuan Foundation.

1LOGIC head, Azman Azmanan says "We reviewed the song, and thought to ourselves, 'Keranamu Malaysia'? Do we owe our independence and freedom to this piece of land? Are we grateful to this piece of land and the rivers and the beautiful ecosystems, or are we grateful to the people who helped build the nation? Kita, or we, are thankful to the past leaders and fighters of Malaysia, or North Borneo, of Tanah Melayu, and not the land itself. Without the people, Malaysia is only some peninsular and Islands and what not."

The head of 1LOGIC continued

"That is why we say Kerana Kalian and not Keranamu Malaysia. We are all humans and easily forget, which is why even a song title must be precise, accurate, and most importantly correct. Kerana Kalian, (kalian is the Bahasa word for 'you all') At first we wanted to name the song 'Kerana Mereka' but it doesn't have a nice ring to it, Kerana Kalian, ah, that is better..."

Azman Azmanan says he has filed a formal request to the ministry, and that he also suggested the children in public schools sing 'Kerana Kalian' during assemblies during this month (September), which is Malaysia Month.

Tomorrow (the 16th September) will be the first time Kerana Kalian will be sang by Malaysians at Dataran Merdeka. The lyrics have not changed a lot, but the Karaoke Style word by word guidance will be shown on the screen at the event.

Ministers, Datuks, Datos, Tan Sris, and all will join the parade while singing 'Kerana Kalian' to show that unity is among us as Malaysians. Happy Malaysia day.
